Taking stock of what you have-Not what you want!

It is easy to get up in the morning and get the kids off to school and want to climb right back into bed and pull the covers up over your head. Some days you should do jut that. Not dealing with what you have to face is OK - for a few days. Once you are done playing the victim I found you have to give yourself a reason to get out the door. Join a gym, find a club that meets that has members who have the same interests as you do. Keep a diary -or a blog. Do volunteer work. Get back into a routine. You will feel wanted, needed and better about yourself. You never know what contacts you will make and what doors will open. Plus you are a better role model for your kids if you keep on plugging when the chips are down. Rely on friends and family to help you out. You DO have what you need - it is in front of you- now you have the time actually realize it and appreciate it !

  1. "give yourself a reason to get out of the door." - This is so true. A few years ago I was out of work for several months, and it was easy to fall into a rut and let the days just blend together. Getting outside always helped. For me, even something as simple as going outside to shoot hoops by myself helped me feel motivated again.
